Melton Mowbray Team Parish

Melton Mowbray Team Parish consists of:

St Mary’s Parish Church, St Mary the Virgin Church in the village of Thorpe Arnold, St James' Church in the village of Burton Lazars, St Mary's Church in the village of Freeby, Sysonby Church, which is situated on the edge of the town and Welby Church, which is situated a mile from the town.

With approximately 120 baptisms, 120 funerals and 30 weddings conducted each year the Parish is very active within the town’s community and is always willing to consider requests for such special services.

Melton Mowbray

Melton MowbrayMelton Mowbray is a growing market town situated in the north-east area of Leicestershire. The town has a population of approximately 26,000. The town is the administrative centre for the Borough of Melton Mowbray. The Borough Melton Mowbray stretches from the borders of Nottinghamshire to the north, Lincolnshire in the east, the Borough of Charnwood in the west and the County of Rutland and the Borough of Market Harborough to the south.

The town has a railway station that provides services to Leicester, Birmingham, and Peterborough. Bus companies provide services in the town itself as well as to villages within the borough. Regular bus services to Leicester, Nottingham, Grantham, Loughborough and Oakham pass through the town.
