Freeby Church and village Update
- September 2019

We welcomed Malcolm Britton to Freeby Chapel in July for a ‘Summer Songs of Praise’.

Church and URC members had chosen six hymns and as Malcolm introduced them, he gave a summary of their origin. These, together with prayers and readings, formed a lovely service which was well supported by both congregations.

In the village hall the Freeby Grange Shoot held their Annual Barbecue to thank the farmers for the use of their land in the winter. Again, the weather was good enough for people to sit outside enjoying each other’s company. A raffle held on the night raised just over £100 for the local Air Ambulance.

At the time of writing this article the weather is far from good for harvesting, with frequent showers. Very frustrating for farmers wanting to get rolling.
