Café Connect with a difference

Café Connect at St James' Church, Burton Lazars, was different this month, writes Janet King.

With Revd Mary with us we were able to celebrate ‘Christ the King’ with a more informal style communion arranged around one big table!   Several people took part in the service – Jenny Pengelly welcomed everyone and led us in a prayer and the music group led the worship.

John Lloyd read the gospel for today (Matthew 25 v 31 – 46) and we linked hands to share The Peace before Mary led us into a short discussion and exchange of ideas on a rather difficult passage!  We then shared communion together before Yvonne Rowe led us in a final prayer.

There was a lovely warm atmosphere and it was good to have time afterwards for some fellowship over our usual selection of lovely homemade cakes and coffee.

It was a lovely service – thank you to Mary for organising and leading it and to everyone who contributed.
