Alma is still working hard

News (and pictures) from Albania – November 27th 2017

The bees are quiet now, but Alma Syla continues to work hard in the villages and on Saturday, November 25th she organised another Messy Church – something Jenny and I introduced Alma and the Bitaj Church to on our last visit to Albania, writes Janet King.

The children’s Group and the Teenagers' Group, which Alma runs every Saturday, were all involved – making biscuits, joining together in various activities – supported by what looks like an every growing music group – something else we started four years ago in Bitaj Church!  It is wonderful to see how the Messy Church idea has blossomed and become so successful.  I hope we can emulate their success when we finally get our refurbishment done here at St James' Church, Burton Lazars!

Also this Christmas, 40 families from Bitaj and Drenge will receive a special ‘Christmas Box’ – not the usual kind of Christmas present but a First Aid box together with training sessions on administering first aid by local experts! Thanks to St James' Church for supporting this project. Alma tells me that everyone is very excited about it!
