About Us

Pictures taken during the OMEGA course

An End or a New Beginning?

The twelve of us who signed up for the OMEGA Course probably did not know quite what to expect from a course designed ‘to help people who may be approaching retirement or be newly retired’, especially when some of us have been ‘officially’ retired for some time!

However, the six session course run by Revd Canon Peter Moseling through November has been an interesting and thought provoking journey.

It may not be some people’s idea of a ‘good night out’ to sit around tables discussing what kind of funeral you might want, or even whether you would prefer to be buried or cremated! However, there were many more much deeper spiritual and soul searching questions which were raised and discussed under the very able leadership of Revd Peter.  I think I speak for the whole group when I say that the course was very much appreciated as was the wealth of Pastoral experience and learning brought to it.
We now have a substantial book list to work through if we want to engage more with some of the excellent writings of different scholars and thinkers introduced to us during the course – in fact it may take me the rest of my retirement years to read them all!
Our thanks to Rev Peter for such an excellent course, carefully researched and so thoughtfully delivered. You have given us a lot to think about and hope that God has not finished with us yet!
