What we do

Above and below: Food, glorious food... more than 50 people enjoyed the Team Parish meal in St Mary's Church, Melton Mowbray.

The recipe for success

GOOD food, good surroundings and good company... the recipe for success in St Mary's Church, Melton Mowbray, on Wednesday night (January 24th).

More than 50 people enjoyed this year's Team Parish meal held in the newly refurbished church and it was a very enjoyable and sociable occasion.

Congratulations and thanks to Ian Neale for organising the evening and to Carol Sloan, Cafe Manager at the Samworth Centre, and her team of helpers for doing such a fantastic job with the catering.

Those present enjoyed a mulled wine reception and a beautifully prepared three course meal, and a quiz kept them entertained between courses.

Many people said they were pleased to see the church being used for such an event and the evening bodes well for holding similar social events in the future.

Serving up a treat ... some of the desserts are sorted ready to serve.

Carol Sloan, left, and her team of helpers who did a brilliant job with the catering on the night.

Ian Neale reads out the answers to the quiz.
