A lovely start to Palm Sunday

Palm Sunday got off to an early start for some of the St James' congregation who went to encourage a band of pilgrims who were walking along Sawgate Road, Burton Lazars, carrying a wooden cross en route to Walsingham, writes Janet King.

It was a lovely start to Palm Sunday which continued with a special Palm Sunday Service organised and led by Revd Peter. There were opportunities for everyone to participate in different ways, some more dramatic than others!

The service began outside the Church and then the congregation proceeded to the Church singing ‘Ride on, Ride on in Majesty’ waving pussy willow and palm branches. Once inside, the service continued with a dramatic reading at the back of the church then an uplifting service of hymns and prayers with the giving out of palm crosses.

Our thanks to Revd Peter for a lovely service.

*Don't miss this Sunday's service in St James' Church, Burton Lazars, which is Family Communion at 11.15am… followed by an Easter Egg hunt.
