get set for some navel manoeuvres!

There's a chance to get fit and have fun at the same time when a new belly dance class starts at the Samworth Centre in Melton Mowbray on Wednesdays in Room Four from June 27th from 6 - 7pm.

The classes are being run by professional teacher, performer and choreographer Maria Haynes from Little Bytham.

Maria, who is 54-years-old and originally from the Czech Republic, first learnt to belly dance in Italy in around 2002 and then learnt more about it all over the world as she worked for travel agencies as a guide. On her travels she also learnt how to make her own spectacular costumes.

When she came over to England she showed her friends her dance routines and they proved so popular that she began organising classes.

"Belly dancing keeps you physically and mentally fit. It keeps you fresh and active. Everyone can do it and you wouldn't believe how many men enjoy taking part," added Maria, who specialises in Egyptian belly dance.

If you are interested in learning a bit more Maria is holding two taster sessions before the classes begin, again in Room Four in the Samworth Centre, on Saturday, 23rd June, from 11am  until 12noon and 1.30pm until 2.30pm for anyone who would like to come along. For more information Maria can be contacted on 07554 327420.
