Work to start soon on refurbishment

A coffee morning, cake and plant sale proved a big success and was well attended in Burton Lazars Village Hall on Saturday (June 2nd).

The morning was held to raise money towards refurbishing St James' Church in the village. Work on the project is due to start very soon and amongst the plans are to bring in gas, water and a new electricity supply so that a toilet, small kitchen, bigger vestry, attractive meeting room and new heating and lighting can be added.

Fundraising is still ongoing and anyone wishing to make a donation or for more information should contact church wardens Janet King (01664 372373) or Jenny Pengelly (01664 668095).
