Church cleaning update

We’re conscious that some people are complaining about the cleanliness of St Mary's Church, Melton Mowbray. We think that there is still a lot of dust descending from high up and from the organ work, as church is dustier than normal.

We held a meeting for potential cleaners on 15th March and 12 people attended. As a result, they volunteered to clean various parts of church on an on-going basis.

In April, for several weeks in the Weekly News, we sought additional volunteers and two people came forward. We still need further help so if you think you can help on a regular basis, please let either of us know.

Additionally, as a one-off, we’re planning to clean church on Saturday, 21st July at 10am, so do let us know if you can come. Because of holidays and organ work in June, this is the earliest date. However, this is no substitute for regular cleaners, so do consider whether you can help. In particular, we need someone to keep the four High Altar candle holders clean. Thanks. John Spence (01664 813944) & Roger Kirby (01664 560080).
