A lunchtime concert featuring mezzo soprano Ann Gregory raised £200 in St Mary’s Church, Melton Mowbray on Saturday (September 1st).

She was accompanied on the piano, and the newly refurbished church organ, by James Gutteridge, Director of Music at St Mary's Church.

The concert featured music by Bach, Handel, Gluck, Vaughan Williams, Purcell, Schumann, Rodgers and Hammerstein and others. The audience of nearly 50 people were also treated to two organ solos by James Gutteridge.

Proceeds from the concert will be split between mental health charity MIND and St Mary's Church refurbishment project.

Many thanks to Ann and James for a superb concert, the fantastic team of volunteers who served refreshments at the end and to everyone who came along to support the event.

It was good to hear James Gutteridge, Director of Music at St Mary's Church, playing the refurbished organ at the concert.

A job well done: James Gutteridge and Ann Gregory acknowledge the audience at the end of the concert.
