Work on St James' Church, Burton Lazars, is going very well.

Work on church is progressing well

The panorama views above showing the current ‘state of play’ with the refurbishment work at St James' Church, Burton Lazars, were taken by the Team Parish Rector, the Revd Kevin Ashby when he came to see the progress being made on our project at the end of August, writes Janet King.

Things continue to go well, with the new electricity supply laid and the pipe-work for the new central heating system now in, together with the new boiler. The font has been relocated to its new position to the right of the main door and the studwork is up for the new toilet and kitchen/servery area.
We thank God for the progress being made and for the fact that the schedule is currently running according to plan.
*On Saturday, September 1st, the village Arts and Crafts Group held their annual exhibition and hosted the coffee morning in the village hall. We are very grateful to them for choosing the St James' Project as their charity, presenting us with a cheque for £500 at the end of the day.
*The same evening a quiz was held (again in the Village Hall) to raise money for our project. More than 80 people attended and £250 was raised. We are very grateful to Ian Pengelly for running the evening for us and would like to express our thanks to everyone who helped to make the event a real success.
