What we do

Grateful thanks

On Friday, 14 December, several members and husbands met in the Samworth Cafe for what has become our traditional Christmas meal together. Needless to say, this was very enjoyable and our thanks go to Carol and her helpers at the Samworth Café for this.

We were very grateful to the Revd Mary Barr for joining us for our December meeting. Mary had prepared and led us in Advent prayers and meditation ready for the Christmas season. We were introduced to the Advent Antiphons which Mary suggested we use in our prayers in the last days of Advent.

During 2018 we have had some very interesting meetings and hope that 2019 will be just as successful. Programmes are ready and anyone who has not received theirs can contact me.

The next meeting, on Friday, 18th January, is a very short Annual Meeting followed by speaker Peter Scott, who will tell us more about his voluntary work.

GILLIAN BEAVIS.
