A stitch in time: Getting to grips with the Parish Patchwork.

Off to a flying start

The New Year got off to a flying start for visitors to the January activities morning in St Mary's Church, Melton Mowbray, on Saturday (January 12th) when they were entertained by members of the New St George Morris dancers.

The morning centred on Epiphany and had the theme of Wise Men or Wise Women??

It included the usual activities for all ages - games, arts and crafts, giant board games, chance to decorate crown biscuits, a creative prayer area making stars, lace making, our Riddle Table, chance to help with our Parish Patchwork, our usual quiz and face-painting, chess, pass the parcel, plus coffee, tea or juice and cakes and the chance to read the day's newspapers or to sit and chat.

The New St George Morris dancers gave two displays and during the second one visitors were invited to join in the dancing. The morning finished with a short act of worship.

If you couldn't get to this event our next Saturday activities morning will be held on February 9th, from 10.30am until 12noon, in the church when the theme will be Read in the Bathtub Day.

Come dressed as your favourite book character for a fun morning which will include giant bubbles with Hattie the clown, our usual arts and crafts, creative prayer area, plus story time which will feature the book Big Red Bath by Julia Jarman.

Please note: All our Saturday activities mornings are FREE of charge. We hope to see you there.
