The Greatest of mornings!

One hundred and three adults, seventy nine children and a dog named Buster had the Greatest of mornings in St Mary's Church, Melton Mowbray, on Saturday (May 11th).

There was fun galore at the latest monthly activities morning which had the theme "Could you be The Greatest Showman?"

Yes, yes, yes they could!

We were joined by Aimee Nicole Harrison, who has launched The Greatest Parties, which comprises of circus skills parties and workshops, to pass on some of her skills and knowledge. There was chance to have a go at spinning plates, juggling and balancing and Aimee had a fun time keeping the children, and adults, amused. To find out more about Aimee click here

There was also chance to listen and join in with members of the Performing Stars Children's Senior Choir, who gave an amazing performance in the church of songs from the popular film The Greatest Showman, which stars Hugh Jackman and Zac Efron and is based on the life of Phineas Taylor Barnum, an American showman, politician, and businessman remembered for promoting celebrated hoaxes and for founding the Barnum & Bailey Circus.

There was also chance to take part in our
usual quiz, our tin can alley and quoits games, hook a duck, Creative Prayer Area, chance to make clowns and clown masks and colour circus magnets, our Riddle Table and Book Swap and Hattie the clown was on hand to help make giant bubbles.

There was also the chance to decorate Greatest Showman cupcakes and to try our delicious popcorn and candy floss and to try lace making and learn about our sewing project. There was a chance to be creative with Jan Ide's adult sketching/chatting group and to enjoy Keith Wilson's story time.

And, for those with a head for heights, there was also chance to take a trip to the top of St Mary's Church tower to take in the stunning views of the town from above.

Plus there was chance to view Melton Mowbray Photographic Society's selection of this season’s favourite images which will be on display in the church until Friday. For more information about Melton Mowbray Photographic Society click here.

There's was also chance to enjoy tea, coffee or juice and cake, to sit and read the day's newspapers or to just sit and chat. Our morning finished with a short act of worship at 11.45am.

Please note: All our Saturday activities mornings are FREE and everyone is welcome. Our next morning is on June 8th when the theme will be Flaming June. More details to follow shortly.
