Fun beside the seaside!

Eighty three adults, sixty one children and six babies enjoyed being beside the seaside in St Mary's Church, Melton Mowbray, on Saturday (July 13th).

It was the latest Saturday activities morning in the beautiful Grade I Listed building with the theme of Happy Holidays and there was plenty of things to do for children and adults alike including making sandcastles, chance to take your picture in our seaside photo booth, hook a duck, our usual quiz, story telling with Keith Wilson, tin can alley, quoits, plus Terry Ide's art corner for children and adults, creative prayer with Linda Pearson and chance to make your own "jellyfish" and seaside sun catchers.

For those with a head for heights there was a chance to take a trip up the 143 steps to the top of the church tower. There were also postcards to colour in, our usual book swap, chance to learn to play chess and lace making, chance to enjoy an ice cream and Hattie the clown came along to make giant bubbles.

There was also chance to enjoy tea, coffee or juice and cake, to sit and read the day's newspapers or to just sit and chat.

The morning finished with a short act of worship led by Team Parish Rector, the Revd Kevin Ashby.

Special thanks to all the hard working team who helped make the event such a success and to everyone who came along on the morning to support it.
*There is no Saturday activities morning in August due to the Team Parish Holiday Club which meets from August 5th - 9th in St Mary's Church. Full details are available by clicking here.

*If you have a pet then why not bring it along to our special Pets Service in St Mary's Church at 10am on Sunday, August 25th? Pets of all shapes, varieties and sizes welcome.

*The next Saturday activities morning will be held on September 14th. Everyone is welcome and all our Saturday activities mornings are FREE of charge.
