Church wins award

St Mary the Virgin Church, Thorpe Arnold, has won a Bronze Eco Church Award in recognition of its efforts to care for God’s earth in the following areas: Worship and teaching - Management of buildings and land - Community and global engagement – Lifestyle.
Congratulations and keep up the good work.
The church is also pleased to announce that it is a Fairtrade Church. It uses Fairtrade tea and coffee, tries to use Fairtrade products where possible, and promote Fairtrade by supporting events, activities and worship through the year. 


An afternoon of carols
On Saturday, December 19th, a socially distanced crowd gathered for an afternoon of carol singing interspersed with a few Christmas poems, thoughts and prayers in St Mary the Virgin churchyard, Thorpe Arnold. More ...

Renovation work completed
Some good news in the midst of such difficult times is that contractors MSM (Midland Stone Masonry Ltd) have completed the renovation work at St Mary the Virgin Church, Thorpe Arnold, writes Catherine Shenton. More ...
