Act of Remembrance

Socially distanced in St Mary the Virgin Churchyard, Thorpe Arnold, on Sunday morning (November 8th), we were grateful to be able to gather for the Act of Remembrance, writes the Revd Mary Barr.

Councillor Steven Horne from Waltham on the Wolds and Thorpe Arnold Parish Council laid a wreath, David Lovegrove read the names of the servicemen from the village who laid down their lives in the First and Second World Wars, and the two minutes' silence was introduced with a recording of the 'Last Post' played by Stephen Wilson.

Many thanks also to Trish Lynott and Catherine Shenton who worked with me to enable this service to go ahead under lockdown regulations.
