This year's spectacular Christmas Tree Festival lights will be switched on by brave seven-year-old Evie Moore, who is pictured above left and who has fought leukaemia twice and undergone a life-saving bone marrow transplant.

*A special quiz night is being held to boost funds for this year's Christmas Tree Festival. Our friends at Montero Lounge, in Sherrard Street, are holding the quiz on Monday, November 25th, at 8pm. Everyone is welcome to come along. Teams of up to 6 people, entry is £2 per person and there will be a sports round! So thinking caps on, grab a few friends and come along to support a good cause.

The 2020 Oberammergau Passion Play in Bavaria comes around every 10 years and the Rector has a trip organised, followed by a week in Sorrento, Italy, and including a visit to Pompeii, Herculaneum, Vesuvius and the Amalfi Coast, especially Pozzuoli, the port where St Paul landed in the country. Samworth Centre name change

The Samworth Centre has changed its name to Mary’s Place.
It opened in Burton Street, Melton Mowbray, 14 years ago as a church centre, community centre and café after receiving a generous donation from the Samworth Foundation.
