Gala dinner

Cricket fans won't want to miss a gala dinner being held in St Mary's Church, Melton Mowbray, on Friday, 27th September (7pm for 7.30pm).

For Matthew Hoggard, the swing bowler who helped England regain the Ashes in 2005 and former Egerton Park, Warwickshire and England bowler Tim Munton will talk through their careers with BBC Radio 5 Live cricket and football broadcaster Pat Murphy as part of the fundraising evening.

It is a poignant date, marking the 25th anniversary of Warwickshire’s unique treble-winning season, of which the Melton cricketer played a pivotal role, and one week on from the final test of this year's Ashes series.

Dress code is smart casual and tickets, which will include a three-course meal, cost £35, or £300 for a table of 10. There will be a bar, raffle and auction. All proceeds will go to St Mary's Church funds.

To book call the Samworth Centre on (01664) 503530 or email Ian Neale at
