Scouts on parade

Large numbers of people saw hundreds of Scouts from throughout Melton district take part in the annual St George’s Day parade through the town on Sunday (April 28th).

The Scouts marched off from Thorpe End through the town behind members of the Melton Mowbray Toy Soldiers Marching Band. The party then made their way to St Mary’s Church, where the traditional service was held which was led by Melton Mowbray Team Parish Rector, the Revd Kevin Ashby. The parade then re-formed before moving off down Nottingham Street and being dismissed outside Argos. Pictures by Phil Balding.
